/ Komakase

A website for Komakase, an independent group hosting intimate coffee experiences in San Francisco.

Overview

Context

Komakase is run by a small, dedicated team providing a unique coffee tasting experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. They create premium coffee-based drinks with a cocktail flair, while priding themselves on welcoming all levels of coffee enjoyers, from novice to connoisseur. Hosting exclusive weekend events with reservations required, their seatings have quickly grown in popularity. Recent increased interest, fueled by positive customer experiences and publications, has driven their need to update their current website.

Impact

I worked with a developer to ship a modern landing page for Komakase that matched their product’s elevated experience and drove increased key site metrics.

Features + Highlights

The Logo

Creation of an alternative logo that matches their site’s typography and can be used in settings that require a responsive format.

Coffee visuals and imagery

A curated selection of action and still shots showcasing crafted cocktails that evoke their sensory booking experience. Selected images are meant to resonate with their target audience, encourage deeper site exploration, and booking interest.

Oval motif

A subtle oval motif is thoughtfully integrated within the design. The oval provides a visual break from the minimalistic layout while contributing to visual hierarchy and it also reinforces brand continuity by referencing their logo shape.
